The Drunken Arts
Eight Immortals
According to the legend, the eight immortals were invited to attend a banquet in an undersea kingdom. At the banquet, they became drunk and wild. All of the kingdom's guards attacked the drunken immortals, but the immortals created an impromptu style on the spot and defeated the guardsmen. This is the style taught to people now. There are numerous variations on Drunken Techniques. Some of the more famous ones are fusions such as Five Drunken Animals based upon the Five Animals techniques, Eight Immortals, Drunken Monkey, Drunken Eagle Claw, Taijiquan, Choy-Li-Fatt Kungfu, and drunken weapon techniques, such as the Drunken Staff, the Drunken Sword, and the Drunken Spear.
